Shining Stars Academy employs speech therapist (ST), physical and occupational therapist (OT) and ABA therapist who take a personal and direct approach to meet an individual’s goals. Therapists work in conjunction with other program staff to ensure a complete plan is in place for each person served. Shining Stars Academy therapy staffs include professionals with years of experience and various specialized areas of expertise.
SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY (ST)
Speech-language therapy is an intervention for most kids with speech and/or language delays or disorders. A speech disorder refers to a problem with the actual production of sounds, whereas a language disorder refers to a difficulty understanding words, using words or putting words together to communicate ideas.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OT)
Occupational therapy is a unique profession that assesses, designs and execute a treatment plan for children who has physical, emotional, social and sensory needs. The main goal of an occupational therapist is independency in doing all the activities of daily living.
Applies specific psychological principles (prompting, reinforcement, generalization, etc) to produce meaningful change in the child’s behavior.
