Shining Stars Academy employs speech therapist (ST), physical and occupational therapist (OT) and ABA therapist who take a personal and direct approach to meet an individual’s goals. Therapists work in conjunction with other program staff to ensure a complete plan is in place for each person served. Shining Stars Academy therapy staffs include professionals with years of experience and various specialized areas of expertise.
SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY (ST)
Speech and language therapy is a therapy service that is provided by a qualified speech-language pathologist (SLP). It is suitable for individuals with any/ combination of the following difficulties:
Difficulty in combining words to make sentences
Issues in the clarity of the speech
Not using any words yet to communicate
Getting stuck on words while talking
Reading and writing difficulties
Poor social skills
If the individual is facing any/ combination of these difficulties, It is essential to meet a speech-language pathologist and share the concerns so that the person can receive timely help.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OT)
Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) aims to help and support children of all ages to successfully perform meaningful and functional activities in their everyday lives. Some areas that OTs address are cognitive and learning, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual perceptual skills, sensory integration, self-care tasks, and social skills. Developing and improving these skills will lead to children being able to grow into healthy, independent, and well-functioning adults.
APPLIED BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS (ABA)
Our certified consultant in the field of Autism will interview parents, and our team will make observations in the home, center, and school settings to develop an intervention program tailored to the strengths and needs of the child. Our team of therapists delivers behavioral therapy (ABA) to help improve children’s appropriate behavior and minimize children’s misbehavior.
